Kids Club
The place for your childcare needs.
Indoors Room 1
Our main room with welcome desk, this room is aimed at facilitating children in Key Stage 2 and up.
Indoors Room 2
Our second room at the back of the club is tailored to children in Foundation stage and Key Stage 1.
Outside Front
Large open play space with a wooden climbing frame called the Adventure Trail and we have access to a ball park.
Outside Rear
At the rear of the club is an outside play area enclosed by high fences. Aimed at keeping the younger children secure.
Our Approach
We engage with children through Playwork principles.
Put simply these are:
1. Understanding that children need to play to learn.
2. Play is freely chosen and guided by children's instincts.
3. Staff support and facilitate the children's play.
4. Staff keep the play process natural and don't tailor it to outcomes, Staff observes a child's natural development and makes notes where appropriate.
5. Staff help children by creating a safe space to play.
6. Staff keep their knowledge up to date with current play trends and reflect on activities facilitated.
7. Staff recognise the impact they have on children's learning through being part of their play.
8. Staff intervene in children's play to enhance or extend the play as well as to help balance the risks-to-benefit ratio of what the children are doing.
